Coronavirus Video Calls
Our professional guidelines changed at the beginning of the lockdown and it severely restricted who and what we could treat. If you’ve had an appointment cancelled in the past two months because of this I would like to thank you for your understanding.
There is some good news, our professional guidelines were updated again this week and we can now see more of you in clinic and we can treat a wider range of problems. But it’s not quite everybody and it’s easier to say who we can’t see rather than who we can.
We can’t see you in clinic if….
- Your nails feel OK but they’re just a bit long
- You have corns and/or calluses but they don’t hurt
- You have verrucas
- You have muscle or tendon pain but it's only affecting your ability to do sport or a leisure activity
We can offer advice on these and any other problems via an on-line consultation. These can be booked via the website.
We will be contacting everyone who had an appointment booked with us if we think we can now treat you. If however you have a new painful problem or an existing problem that has worsened and become painful then please do get in touch.
Things will be a bit different when you come to the clinic. Firstly, you must wait outside until the podiatrist calls you in. She will check your temperature with an infrared forehead thermometer and you will need to sanitise your hands and put on a mask. Don’t worry if you don’t already have one, we can provide one but because of the mask, no tea or coffee I’m afraid.
We have invested heavily in screens and additional PPE for your protection and ours and the revised professional guidelines require us to space out our appointments. This comes at a significant additional cost to the business and so we will need to increase our prices to cover at least some of this.
The clinic will re-open from Monday 18th May. Please leave a message on the answerphone if we don't answer. We will be without a receptionist for a little while.
